From landing to your hotel
- 1Land at HKTYour flight number is in the booking, so we follow the arrival.
- 2Immigration and baggageTake the time you need. A late landing does not cancel the pick-up.
- 3Gate 2 or Gate AInternational flights: your driver waits at the Gate 2 meeting point next to Exit 2. Domestic flights: Gate A.
- 4About 1 hour 10 minutes to Nai HarnStraight to your hotel, no extra stops unless you ask.

Choosing a car for a 70-minute ride
At about 1 hour 10 minutes this is one of the longer beach transfers, so legroom and luggage space count for more than they would on a 30-minute hop. The price follows the car, whatever the head count, and the table above has all four.
- Sedan, 999 THB: up to 3 passengers with luggage.
- SUV / MPV, 1,199 THB: up to 4 passengers with luggage.
- Minibus, 1,499 THB: up to 9 passengers with luggage.
- VIP Minibus, 1,999 THB: up to 8 passengers in a premium cabin.
Add up the large suitcases before you choose. Three people with four big bags are a tighter fit in a sedan than the limit suggests, and the SUV / MPV costs 200 THB more.
The drive from the north of the island to the south
The airport sits at the northern end of Phuket and Nai Harn is in the far south, so the trip runs down almost the whole length of the island. You join Highway 402, the main north-south road, and pass the Heroines Monument roundabout in Thalang. After that the road crosses the middle of the island and carries on south.
The last part of the drive is on smaller roads among hills, and the driver picks the best line for the traffic that day. Plan on about 1 hour 10 minutes from the gate to your door in normal conditions, a little more if your hotel is high on a hillside or if the evening is wet. The distance page puts that time next to the other beaches.
What you are driving to
Nai Harn is a bay between green hills, with casuarina trees along the sand. Behind the beach there is a freshwater lake, and a road runs between the two. A Buddhist temple, Wat Nai Harn, stands between the beach and the lake. The area has a quieter feel than Patong, though the bay can fill up in December and January.
Close by are Ya Nui Beach, Ao Sane Beach, which is about a five-minute drive away, and two southern lookouts. Windmill Viewpoint sits on a hill past the lake, with Nai Harn Bay on one side and Ya Nui on the other. Promthep Cape, further south, is the sunset stop most visitors know.
Season, sea and the first afternoon
Most visitors come between November and April. At other times of year the sea on Phuket's west coast can be rough, and lifeguards fly warning flags. Look at the flag before you swim. A red flag means swimming is unsafe, however calm the water looks from the sand.
If you arrive in the afternoon and want something to do before dinner, the lake path behind the beach is flat and good for a walk. On a clear evening, Windmill Viewpoint is a short ride from the bay, and the Kata Viewpoint page covers another lookout on the road between Kata and Nai Harn.
Finding your hotel or villa
Some places in Nai Harn are a short walk from the sand. Others sit up the hillsides around the bay. "Near the beach" does not tell a driver much here, because the beach and the lake lie on either side of the same road.
When you book, give the hotel or villa name and drop a map pin. For a villa without a well-known name, send the full address as well. A pin matters most for a place on a hill, where the access lane can be hard to guess from the main road.
Late landings and the holiday weeks
Transfers run 24/7. If your plane lands at 1 am, the price is the same as at noon, and the driver is tracking the flight, not the clock. A delay or a slow passport queue does not cancel the pick-up. Fast Track is an optional extra at the airport, and it works on arrival only.
The one date range that changes the price is 24 December to 5 January, when a holiday surcharge of 400 THB per car applies. Those weeks are also when Nai Harn is at its busiest, so send your booking early.
What to send when you book
Send your flight number and arrival date, the name of your hotel or villa with a map pin, and the car size you want. You pay when you book, by Visa, Mastercard or PayPal. On arrival the driver waits at Gate 2 next to Exit 2 if you fly in from abroad, or at Gate A on a domestic flight.
Questions about this transfer
How long does the drive from the airport to Nai Harn take?
About 1 hour 10 minutes for the 48 km, measured from the car to the hotel in normal traffic. Immigration and baggage reclaim come before that and are not part of the drive.
Which gate does the driver wait at?
For international flights the driver waits at Gate 2, next to Exit 2. For domestic flights the meeting point is Gate A.
My villa has no hotel name. What do I send?
Send the full address and a map pin. The driver then knows the final approach before you land, which helps most for places on a hillside.
My flight is three hours late. Is the driver still coming?
Yes. The driver follows your flight number, so the pick-up moves with the plane. The service runs 24/7.
What does the transfer cost over New Year?
Trips on 24 December to 5 January carry a holiday surcharge of 400 THB per car, so a sedan is 1,399 THB and an SUV or MPV 1,599 THB.
