Price by vehicle
Prices are per vehicle in Thai baht and include fuel, tolls and the airport pick-up. The number of passengers does not change the price, only the car you need does.

From landing to your hotel
- 1Land at HKTYour flight number is in the booking, so we follow the arrival.
- 2Immigration and baggageTake the time you need. A late landing does not cancel the pick-up.
- 3Gate 2 or Gate AInternational flights: your driver waits at the Gate 2 meeting point next to Exit 2. Domestic flights: Gate A.
- 4About 50 minutes to Phuket TownStraight to your hotel, no extra stops unless you ask.

Choosing the car for your group
Four cars, four fixed prices, all in the table above. Seats and bags decide which one you need. The number of people inside never changes the price.
- Sedan: up to 3 passengers with luggage. Good for a couple or a family of three who packed sensibly.
- SUV / MPV: up to 4 passengers with luggage. Take it when four adults land together or when the bags will not fit a sedan boot.
- Minibus: up to 9 passengers with luggage. Suits a group arriving on one flight to share rooms in the same hotel.
- VIP Minibus: up to 8 passengers, premium cabin. The comfortable option after a long-haul flight.
Count the large suitcases before you count the heads. A party that sits exactly at the seat limit but travels with oversized bags should go one size up.
The road from the airport into town
The airport is at the northern tip of the island and Phuket Town is 36 km to the south. The driver joins Highway 402, also called Thepkrasattri Road, the main north-south road of the island. It passes the Heroines Monument roundabout in Thalang and keeps heading south until the first streets of the town appear.
There is no mountain pass on this trip. The trip to Patong, 40 km, ends with a climb over Patong Hill and takes about 1 hour 5 minutes. Phuket Town is 4 km nearer and about 15 minutes quicker. Plan on about 50 minutes in normal traffic.
Traffic builds on the town side. Weekday mornings and late afternoons are the busy hours, and the last kilometres can take longer than the open highway at the start. Our distance page goes through the route in order.
Where in Phuket Town you will be dropped
Most visitors who book a hotel here choose the Old Town, the quarter of Sino-Portuguese shophouses with narrow fronts and deep rooms. Its main streets are Thalang Road, Dibuk Road, Krabi Road, Phang Nga Road and Yaowarat Road, with Soi Romanee tucked between them. The streets are narrow, so the car stops at your door when it can and at the nearest legal spot when it cannot.
Sunday needs a note. Thalang Road is closed to traffic on Sunday afternoon for the walking street, which runs into the evening, and Soi Romanee is closed with it. If your guesthouse is on that stretch, expect the final minutes on foot and put the hotel name and a map pin in your booking, so the driver picks the best side street before you land.
A hotel outside the old quarter, on one of the wider roads, is usually a plain door-to-door drop. More about the area itself is on the Phuket Town page.
Why Phuket Town works as a first stop
Phuket Town is the island's administrative centre and its Old Town is one of the few places on Phuket where you can walk between cafes, shophouses, shrines and markets without a car. UNESCO lists Phuket as a City of Gastronomy, and the old quarter is where much of that food is easiest to find on foot.
The ride is also shorter than to the beaches. Phuket Town is 36 km and about 50 minutes from the airport, against 40 km and 1 hour 5 minutes for Patong, 43 km and 1 hour 10 minutes for Karon and 46 km and 1 hour 15 minutes for Kata Beach. After a night flight, the shorter ride counts.
If you plan to move on to the coast later, the beach resorts are reached from town by a separate trip. You can book a new transfer for that stage from the pricing page.
Landing at any hour
The service runs 24/7. A 1 am arrival gets the same driver and the same price as one at midday. He tracks your flight number, so if the plane is late or the immigration queue takes an hour, he is still waiting. For a very late arrival tell your hotel in advance that you are on the way.
Fast Track is an optional extra at the airport. It works on arrival only.
One date range costs more: trips on 24 December to 5 January carry a holiday surcharge of 400 THB per car. On every other date the table price is the price you pay.
What to send when you book
- Flight number and arrival date.
- Hotel name in Phuket Town, with a map pin if you have one.
- The car size.
- Payment by Visa, Mastercard or PayPal at the time of booking.
After landing, find the driver at Gate 2 next to Exit 2 if you came in on an international flight, or at Gate A for a domestic one.
Questions about this transfer
How long is the taxi ride from Phuket airport to Phuket Town?
About 50 minutes for the 36 km in normal traffic. That is the driving time only. Immigration, baggage and the walk to the meeting gate come before it, and the driver waits for you.
Can the driver reach my hotel on Thalang Road on a Sunday?
Thalang Road is closed to traffic on Sunday afternoon and evening for the walking street. The car stops at the nearest point it can reach and you walk the rest. Send the hotel name and a map pin when you book so the driver knows the approach.
Where do I meet the driver at the airport?
At Gate 2 next to Exit 2 for international flights, or at Gate A for domestic flights.
Is there a night surcharge for a very late arrival?
No. The service runs 24/7 and the price in the table applies at any hour. The only extra is the holiday surcharge of 400 THB per car on trips from 24 December to 5 January.
Which car should I book for four people with big suitcases?
The SUV / MPV at 1,199 THB carries up to 4 passengers with luggage. A sedan is for up to 3. For five or more, book the minibus at 1,499 THB.
